
Bio

Juan P. Tello is a Multi-Percussionist, Music Producer and TV & Film Scoring Composer from Cali-Colombia, established in NJ-USA. With a background in Pop, Latin, R&B, Classical, Funk, Fusion and Folklore music Juan has performed, worked, recorded and toured along many outstanding musicians and well-known Artists. Awarded with the Louis Armstrong Award and 2019 AMI Award nominee.

Born in Cali - Colombia in 1995, at an early age Juan starts showing his love for music and his parents decided to enroll him in a music academy for kids called Tra-La La, and then at his 7 years old Juan gets enrolled at the Conservatory of Classical Music where he graduates in 2011 with a Bachelor in Classical Music Diploma with his first instrument being Classical Percussion. In 2011 he toured through France, Spain and Italy as a member of Youngsters Symphonic Orchestra in “La Via Dei Concert Festival''.
In 2012 Juan and his family moved to New Jersey - USA where Juan finished his scholar studies and entered NJPAC to study Jazz for 6 months.

During his time in Colombia Juan has performed in many different venues and stages as a member of the Conservatory’s Percussion ensemble, The Conservatory’s Symphonic Orchestra and a Salsa orchestra where he was director assistant.

In 2014, Juan moved to Boston mainly to pursue his music studies at a professional level and in 2015 he got enrolled at the prestigious Berklee College of Music were he graduated with a double majoring in Performance and Contemporary Writing and Production (CWP) with a Minor in Latin Performance Studies. During his time in Berklee Juan played in many Berklee’s Concerts and events and students recitals such as, Latin American Vive Music Festival in 2016-2018,
Berklee Gala in 2017, Pablo Ziegler Meets Berklee in 2017, Divas Latinas in 2018, CWP Students Concert in 2017-2018, Chinese New Year Celebration in 2018-2020, Chinese Music Festival in 2018-2020, Berklee Indonesian Night in 2018-2019, "Legenda" Concert in 2020 and many many more. Juan has also been part of bands outside Berklee where he has had the opportunity to play in very important events such as the Indonesian Embassy in NY and the UN.

Juan has had the opportunity to perform and record with outstanding musicians and well known artists such as, Alexander Acha, Tia Ray, Pablo Ziegler, Paquito D’Rivera, Nana Ouyang, Leon Yamil, among others.

Juan is currently working with other musicians on their EPs and Singles as an Artist and Producer while doing some Collaboration and online concerts with other artists.

Juan is also doing his internship at a video game company called Easy Time LLC where he is doing sound design and soundtrack for five upcoming video games, one of them was Wizkid which is now number 3 in the Top 10 of the most popular video games in the Reworld Chinese platform.
